Sometimes, you may not be ready to start dating, but feel that you have to because everyone else around you is.

Such influences can present extraordinary psychological challenges and upsets in the life of a young teenager and if they aren’t balanced out by the presence of advice and open communication from a loving parent or caretaker they can often overwhelm what might have been an otherwise healthy, stable, and mature young adult.

The media is often a source of anxiety for young teenagers not only because of the confusing and often contradicting messages it sends but also because of how deeply ingrained it has become in every aspect of our lives.

They also want to enable them to set their own goals for a healthy dating relationship and to explore group options for dating.

According to a Kaiser Family Foundation study on media and 8- to 18-year-olds, teens spend an average of four to five hours each day watching TV.

Teens in our focus group explained the way digital communication platforms – social media as well as texting – can enhance and expand on in-person meetings.
